COLOR LINES

¡LAS LÍNEAS ESTÁN DE VUELTA! Nada se ve mejor en unas uñas que un diseño con lineas y varios colores contrastantes. Es por eso que en este nuevo tutorial les quiero dar una idea de cómo decorar sus uñas con delgadas líneas en varias direcciones.

LINES ARE BACK! Nothing looks better on nails than a line design with various contrasting color. That's why I want to give you an idea on how to decorate them with a bunch of colorful lines in different directions.

Empecé con una capa base tono 26 de la marca Vov.

I started with a base coat of Vov color 26.

Luego utilicé mis nail art pen y pintauñas para nail art para trazar las líneas negras, rosadas y lilas hasta que obtuve este diseño.

Then I used my nail art pen and nail art lacquer to draw the black, pink and lilac lines until I obtained this design.

NOT YOUR EVERYDAY NEWSPAPER

Leer el periódico es algo que hacemos todos los días pero, ¿quién podría pensar que podemos leerlo de nuestras uñas? Pues con este tutorial verás que es súper sencillo transferir un pasaje que te guste o incluso tu chiste favorito a tus uñas en tres simples pasos!

Reading the paper is something we do everyday, but who could believe we can also read it from our nails? With this tutorial you'll see it's super easy to transfer a favorite passage or even your beloved comic to your nails in three simple steps!

Empezaremos con una capa base de color blanco. Yo utilicé el blanco mate de Darosa

Let's start with a white base coat. I used White Mate from Darosa

Corté fragmentos de noticias del periódico, incluso recorté algunos dibujos de publicidad y de los chistes. Luego recorte los fragmentos en pedazos más pequeños que fueran del tamaño de mi uña.

I cut some news fragments from the paper, and even some drawing from publicity and the comics section. Then I cut the fragments into smaller pieces to fit my nails.

Para preparar la uña para la aplicación del periódico debemos sumergirla unos 5 segundos en una tapita con un poco de alcohol y no dejar que ésta se seque.

To prepare the nail for the application of the newspaper we have to dip it for 5 seconds in a little of alcohol and don't let it dry.

Cuando el alcohol aún esté fresco se debe poner el papel encima de la uña y presionar asegurándose de cubrir toda la uña. Deberías obtener algo así.

When the alcohol is still wet put the piece of newspaper on top of the nail and press, making sure to cover your whole nail. It should look something like this.

Así es como quedaron los dibujitos que recortamos. Seguí utilizando el mismo proceso.

Como top coat utilicé el Matte Top Coat de Forever 21 para que las uñas mantuvieran su efecto de papel.

As a top coat I used a Matte Top Coat from Forever 21 to mantain the paper effect on the nails.

LITTLE MERMAID

¿A quién más le gustan las sirenas? Si te gustan éstas mitológicas criaturas creo que este tutorial será perfecto para ti! Éstas uñas están inspiradas en las lindas colas de las sirenas, y para lograr este efecto utilicé varias de las técnicas que les he propuesto anteriormente.

Para las colas utilicé la técnica de la esponja para darle un efecto de que el color va adentrándose en las profundidades del mar, dibuje las que simulan ser las escamas de su cola y luego agregué pequeñas burbujas en mi uña anular utilizando caviar plateado.

Who else likes mermaids? If you are one to love these mitological creatures this tutorial is perfect for you! This nail art is inspired on mermaid's pretty tails, and for achieving this effect I used a lot a of the previous techniques I've shown you.

For the tails I used the sponge technique to make them look as if the water was getting deepper, then I drew scales all over my nails, I also added some "bubbles" on my ring finger nail using silver caviar.

Empecé con una capa base con el color Turquesa Marina 101 de Darosa

I started with a torquoise 101 from Darosa base coat.

Luego utilicé la técnica de la esponja y apliqué un poco del turquesa y blanco mate para crear el efecto degradé.

Then I used the spong technique with a little of torquoise and white to create the ombré effect.

Luego empecé a dibujar las escamas con el pincel decorador.

Then I started drawing the scales with a narrow nail brush.

Luego coloqué las bolitas de caviar sobre un punto de pintura plateada que previamente había aplicado a la uña y sellé todo con una capa de brillo.

 Then I put the caviar spheres on top of a small silver nail polish dot I had previously made and then sealed it all with a top coat.

El resultado obtenido :)

Este es el brillo que utilicé para darle ese efecto profundo en las cutículas. Es el tono Chunky Holo Black 236 de Kleancolor.

WORLD CUP EVERYWHERE - GO ARGENTINA!

¡VAMOS ARGENTINA! Siendo Guatemalteca nada me emociona más que tener un país americano en la final de la Copa del Mundo, ¡y mejor aún si estamos hablando de Argentina y Lionel Messi! Éstas uñas están inspiradas totalmente en la final de mañana, deseándoles buena suerte a todos y esperando que puedan utilizar esta idea para decorar sus uñas con el país al que estén apoyando. ¡Olé, olé, olé, olé!

GO ARGENTINA! Being Guatemalan nothing thrills me more than having an american country in the World Cup final, and better yet if it's Argentina and Lionel Messi! These nails are completely inspired on tomorrow's final, wishing everybody with luck and hoping you get inspired on these nails and you do them yourselves with the country you are supporting. Olé, olé, olé, olé!

Empezamos con una capa base en blanco y en celeste.

Let's star with a base coat in white and light blue.

¡Este es el tutorial del Messi que les debía! Simplemente pintan un círculo color piel en el centro de la uña y lo coronan con un pequeño arbusto café para simular el pelo. Luego pintamos los ojitos, nariz y boca con un pincel delgado y ¡listo! Tenemos un Messi muy chistoso :)

This is the Messi tutorial I owed you! You just paint a little skin colored circle on the center of the nail and top it with a little brown bush to simulate the hair. Then we paint the eyes, nose and mouth with a slim brush and done! We've got a very comical Messi :)

Aplicamos un poco de brillo en la parte de atrás de nuestra pelota impresa y la ponemos rápidamente sobre la uña celeste ya seca. Presionamos un poco para que ésta se adhiera bien y luego aplicamos una capa de brillo para sellar todo y evitar que nuestra pelota se nos deshaga cuando nos lavemos las manos.

Para la copa simplemente pintamos un círculo amarillo y luego dibujamos el cuerpo y la base de la copa. Yo le puse un poco de pintura dorada con brillantina para realzarla, y luego le pinté su línea verde en la base.

Apply a little of clear nail polish in the back part of our printed football and put it quickly on top of the dry light blue nail. Then press a little so it sticks well to the nail and apply a top coat so the football won't get ruined when we wash our hands.

For the cup I just painted a small yellow circle and then drew the body and the base of the cup. I applied a little of gold and glittery nail polish so it would look better, and then drew the green line on the base of the cup.

¡La playera y la bandera de Argentina son las más fáciles! Solo debes pintar las líneas celestes sobre el fondo blanco. Verticales para la camiseta y horizontales para la bandera. Luego Escribí "Messi 10" en la uña con las líneas verticales para simular la camiseta de Lio y pinté el sol amarillo en la uña con las líneas horizontales.

The Argentina jersey and flag are the easiests! You just paint light blue stripes on top of the white nails, vertical for the jersey and horizontal for the flag. Then I wrote "Messi 10" on the nail with the vertical stripes and painted a small yellow circle for the sun on the nail with the horizontal stripes.

CAVIAR

   Lo maravilloso del caviar es que no necesariamente tiene que ser comida, sino una manera original y súper elegante de arreglar tus uñas!
  El caviar son pequeñas bolitas de un material plástico que se pegan perfectamente a las uñas con sólo aplicarlas cuando la pintura aún está fresco. Luego es necesario aplicar una capa de brillo para evitar que el caviar se despegue.

   The wonderful thing about caviar is that it's not necesarilly food but also an original and super original way to do your nails!
   Caviar are tiny plastic made spheres which adhere perfectly to nails by just putting them when the nails polish is still not dry. Then you just have to apply a top coat to prevent the spheres to fall off.

Se pueden crear distintos diseños con el caviar, desde llenar toda la uña entera con las bolitas o solamente poner unas cuantas y crear un estilo algo punk.

You can create a lot of different designs with caviar, from covering your entire nail with the spheres or just putting a few ones and doing a kind of punk style.

El punto es deletrar LOVE utilizando todas las uñas de tu mano, y decorar la uña de tu dedo pulgar con un corazoncito :)

The point is to spell LOVE using all of the nails in your hand and decorating the thumb finger with a little pink heart :)

With the World Cup still all over us, what's better than World Cup nails?! These are simple and easy designs that will have everybody looking at our pretty little hands and they are the perfect way to let everyone know which country we are supporting :)

¡Y éstas son mis absolutas favoritas! ¿Qué es más sencillo que utilizar los colores de las banderas de tus equipos favoritos y decorarlas con mini pelotas de fútbol?

And these are my absolute favorite! What's simplear than using the colors of your favorite country's flag and decorating them with mini footballs? 

Para las pelotas simplemente imprimí pelotitas en papel extra delgado y las recorté con un abre hoyos. Luego simplemente las pegué cuando el pintauñas aún estaba fresco y sellé todo con una capa de brillo.

For the footballs I just printed some little footballs in extra thin paper and cut them with a hole puncher. Then I just put them on top of my nails while the polish was still fresh and later sealed it all with a top coat.

Éstas son unas uñas a la "Lionel Messi" que le hice a mi cuñada que apoya a Argentina. Simplemente dibuje un circulo más o menos grande de color piel para la cabeza, un poco de café en la parte de arriba para el pelo y con un pincel delgado hice los ojos, nariz y boca.

 These are some "Lionel Messi" nails I did to my sister in law who is rooting for Argentina. I only drew a semi large skin colored circle and painted a little brown on top for the hair and drew the eyes, nose and mouth with a narrow paint brush.

OLDIES BUT GOLDIES - SPONGEBOB SQUARENAILS

¿Cuál es el uso más frecuente que le dan a las esponjas? ¡Seguramente no para pintar sus uñas! Pues ¿qué creen?, las esponjas son una excelente herramienta para crear ciertos looks en nuestras uñas.

What's the most frequent use you give to sponges? It sure is not to color your nails! Well, what do you think? Sponges are a great tool for obtaining certain looks on our nails.


Es súper fácil de lograr y les aseguro que tienen todos los materiales en sus casas.

It's super easy to achieve and I asure you you have all the materials at home.

Necesitarán una esponja (de preferencia redonda), tijeras, un pitauñas base y otro de un color contrastante.

You'll need a sponge (it's best if it is a round one), scissors, a base color nail polish and a contrasting one.

El primer paso es recortar una pequeña sección de la esponja y pintarla con un poco de pintauñas.

The first step is to cut a little piece of the sponge and apply a little of nail polish on it.

Luego utiliza la esponja para pintar tus uñas, incluso puedes crear un efecto degradé en ellas. Por último limpia las orillas (porque harás un gran desastre) :)

Then use to sponge to color your nails, you can even give them an ombré effect! At last, clean the edges (because it will sure leave a good mess!) :)

Luego puedes experimentar con más diseños, así como uno de galaxia o un degradé de dos colores.

Later you can experiment with more designs, such as a galaxy one or an ombré with two colors.

POP OF COLOR FRENCH

El estilo "french" es uno de los más comunes y utilizado por todas pero, ¿quién dice que solo puede ser con blanco? Una buena idea es utilizar colores vibrantes para darle un toque moderno y fresco.

The "french" style is one of the most common and popular for all women but, who says it can only be white? A great idea is to use vibrant color to give it a fresh and modern twist.

Yo decidí utilizar azul y verde limón para mi combinación, simplemente dibujando una delgada línea verde en mis uñas azules :)

I decided to use blue and lime green for my combination, just by drawing a thin green line on my blue nails :)

OLDIES BUT GOLDIES - SEASONAL

¡Hola a todos! Bueno, este es el primer post de mi blog de uñas y ¿qué mejor que un vistazo a algunos de mis nail art/diseño de uñas anteriores?

Hello everyone! Ok, so this is the first post on my nail blog and, what better than a look at some of my previous nail art/designs?

Estas son un par de uñas temáticas que me hice para los cumpleaños de mis sobrinos. Las primeras con un tema de Minnie y Mickey Mouse y las segundas de Angry Birds.

These are some theme nails I created for my niece and nephew birthday parties. The first are Mickey and Minnie Mouse theme and the second are Angry Birds.

¡Y claro que no podía faltar las navideñas! Las primeras son pequeños Santas en la uña del dedo pulgar y un diseño de nieve/sueter navideño en las demás.

Las segundas son un poco más sencillas, con un gorrito navideño en la uña del dedo pulgar y un color "nude" en el resto.

And of course I couldn't miss some holiday ones! The first are a small Santa on my thumb nails and a snowy/Christmas-sweather design.
The second are a little simpler, with a Santa Claus hat on the thum nail and nude color on the rest.
