Es el cuarto día del reto y hoy corresponden uñas verdes. Decidí hacer un nail art que también celebrara los 193 años de independencia de Guatemala este 15 de Septiembre. Tengo la suerte que nuestra ave nacional, el quetzal, sea color verde esmeralda, por lo cual lo usé como inspiración para mi manicura.
Este nail art está hecho con el objetivo de honrar a Guate, por lo que para la base de las uñas utilicé un degradado en celeste y blanco como nuestro cielo y, claro, nuestra bandera :) espero les guste y lo hagan también ustedes para celebrar a nuestro país! (o con su ave nacional si ven mi blog desde otro país :) ) ¡FELIZ INDEPENDENCIA, GUATEMALA!
Today's the fourth day of the challenge and it was the turn for green nails. I decided to use this nail art to celebrate Guatemala's independence this September 15th. I'm lucky because I have a country that has an emerald green bird, the quetzal, as a national symbol, so I got inspired on it for this.
This nail art was made with the purpose to celebrate my country, so I did and ombré style for the base using light blue and white, which are the colors of Guatemala's flag :) I hope you like this tutorial and that you try it yourselves (or with your country's national bird if you're visiting my blog from another country :) ) HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, GUATEMALA!
Yo se que lo peor de pintarse las uñas es limpiar el alrededor de ellas después de aplicar el pintauñas porque, aunque lo intentemos, nunca podemos pintar dentro de la línea :)
Para ayudarlas a hacer de su manicura algo más limpio y divertido les comparto este tip: con un pincel o una brocha pequeña apliquen una buena cantidad de goma blanca alrededor de sus uñas y dejen secar hasta que se vea como en la tercera imagen.
I know that the worst part about painting your nails is the cleaning up after you apply the polish because, although we try, we can never color inside the line :)
To help you achieve a cleaner and easier manicure I share you this tip: with a small brush apply a good amount of liquid glue around your nails and let it dry until it looks something like the third picture.
Para el degradé del fondo utilizaremos nuestra típica esponja y la pintaremos con celeste y blanco. Pintaremos con la esponja hasta obtener algo que se vea así, y por último utilizaremos un palito de naranja para quitar la goma seca de nuestros dedos.
For the background ombré we'll use our sponge and paint it light blue and white. Stroke your nail gently with the sponge until you obtain something like this. Then, use a cuticule remover stick to remove the dry glue off your fingers.
Comenzaremos con el quetzal.
Primero pon un punto verde mas o menos a la mitad de la uña índice, y luego pon un medio círculo un poco más abajo de la cabeza del ave que se complementará con el otro medio círculo que debes poner en la uña del dedo medio. Utiliza un pincel para nail art para trazar líneas que serán la cola de nuestro quetzal.
We'll start with the quetzal.
Firtst, put a green dot on the middle part of the nail and then a half circle just a little below the bird's head. Paint the other half of the circle on the edge of the middle finger's nail. Use a nail art brush to draw lines that will be the tail of the quetzal.
Sigue pintando líneas, alternando gruesas con delgadas, hasta terminar con algunas curvas en la uña meñique. Con rojo pinta la pancita del quetzal y utiliza amarillo para el pico y ¡listo! Espero les haya gustado :)
Keep painting lines, alterning thick and thin, until you end up with some curvy ones on the pinky nail. With red polish paint the quetzal's belly and use some yellow for the beak and you're all set! I hope you liked it :)
